Focus: The workshop will focus on three key areas: financial planning, tax and bookkeeping. All three areas affect your budgeting, which affects your cash flow. So please come prepared with your laptop, financials, financial goals and questions.

Date: Saturday, 18 November 2017

Time: Registration at 08:30; Workshop sessions: 09:00 to 13:00

Place: Cruises International, 3 Willow Crescent, St Andrews, Senderwood, Bedfordview

Presenters: Jason Appel, Maryanne Leicher and Adriaan Basson

Jason Appel is a Certified Financial Planner® with a BCom (Finance) and BCom Honours (Financial Planning) from the University of Johannesburg. He obtained an Advanced Diploma in Estate Planning from the University of the Free State and has been working as a retirement specialist at Chartered Wealth Solutions for the past six years.

Chartered Wealth Solutions believes that you retire to something and not from something. Very few freelancers and, more specifically, language practitioners truly retire from what they do. The question is: Have you planned for where you want to be financially in the next five, ten or 30 years?

Does your current budget reflect your financial goals and are you being a good custodian of your finances? Being on time and accurate with your provisional and annual tax returns can save you money (by avoiding penalties) and help you budget for what is due to SARS.

Maryanne Leicher will assist us in gaining practical insight into submitting provisional and annual tax returns. Maryanne is a financial planner with Chartered Wealth Solutions. She decided to become a financial planner after eight years’ auditing and banking experience. She believes that the combination of her skills and knowledge in finances, tax and financial planning feeds her passion for helping others.

Another person who finds joy in assisting others in growing their businesses is Adriaan Basson. He is a director at Sentera, an accounting firm. He actively pursues the latest technology in his field and will be sharing simple bookkeeping and accounting principles as well as the technology that is currently available for accurate bookkeeping. Adriaan will share how to maintain proper accounting records, remain tax compliant and manage your cash flow.
