PEG holds a range of get-togethers during the year. Four relatively standard dates are set as the last Saturday of January, April, July and October, unless a public holiday makes it necessary to change. Other meetings are organised on an ad hoc basis. Venues vary. The year always starts with the AGM in mid-January, and a networking brunch is held each year as well. The events planned for the year will be listed below as they are decided on. A meeting with Peter Stiff
Peter Stiffis the owner of Galago Publishing Company. An independent publishing house, Galago has been going for 28 years. Its publications consist mostly of southern African histories and biographies, and its focus is mainly political and military. It does, however, also publish general books.
Peter will speak about why he believes Galago has been successful, and about some of the highlights and vicissitudes of running the company since it started in 1980. He will also comment on the current state of independent publishing in South Africa.
