PEG holds a range of events during the year, at two-monthly intervals,
to create networking opportunities for its members as well as
to keep them informed and abreast of trends. Guest speakers are an
important component of our annual programme, as are training sessions.
We welcome questions and suggestions about events, which can be
directed to Isabelle Delvare at
idelvare@yahoo.co.uk (Gauteng) or Kristina Davidson
at kristina@netactive.co.za (Cape Town).
There will be a talk by Gerald de Villiers, author of the very useful style guide, Walking on Eggshells: Aspects of English Usage. He will speak about the process of writing this book, concentrating on the issue of language change and 'either/or usages'. This will be followed by the opportunity to catch up with old friends and meet new ones.

Over 30 members of PEG Cape Town enjoyed an informative and interactive meeting on Saturday 29 August 2009. Our speaker, Julie Farquhar from Ink Design talked about bridging the gap between designers and editors.
PEG Cape Town meeting took place on Saturday 9 May 2009 at the Book Lounge. The turnout was surprisingly high given the number of other attractions on offer in Cape Town that weekend, not to mention President Zuma's inauguration.
Guest Speaker: Sharon Sorour-Morris, freelance journalist. Over thirty PEG members attended the February meeting of the Cape Town branch that was held at our 'home,' the Book Lounge. Speaking on the topic of the future of the magazine industry, Sharon used her extensive experience working at Femina, Reader's Digest and Drum to illustrate her talk.
