A key component of the conference will be workshops that will be held in parallel on both conference days in English, Afrikaans and isiXhosa. These will give conference-goers hands-on experience of, and insights into, what it takes to copy edit manuscripts in this genre.
This conference will be of great interest to publishers of works of fiction and narrative non-fiction as well as a wide range of practitioners, including:
• newcomers to book publishing or the genre • more experienced copy editors and proofreaders who feel they have what it takes to venture into fiction editing • authors in the field who would benefit from viewing their craft from the perspective of the copy editor.
