Gauteng July meeting

Our last event was the Winter Warmer, which took place on Saturday 11 July 2009 in Rivonia, Johannesburg.

Speakers included:

Isabel Hofmeyr, Professor of African Literature in the School of Literature and Language Studies at Wits University, an original thinker and rated an A scholar by the National Research Foundation, who spoke  on the topic of ‘Gandhi’s printing press: Print cultures of the Indian Ocean’.

Sandy Goulding, PEG colleague and author of the novel Grief’s Bounty. Sandy reflected on the processes of writing her novel and of finding a publisher. She generously offered us two free copies of her book, that were given away during the afternoon.
